On 27 April 2021, from 14:00 to 15:00 (CEST), Policy Cloud is hosting a webinar on urban policymaking through analysis of crowdsourced data, crucial to increase and improve the overall urban environment of cities around the world.
Sofia is Bulgaria's capital and the most important political, administrative, cultural, and educational center in the country, with a current population of 1,8 million inhabitants. The municipality constantly works to improve the urban environment. Through its involvement in Policy Cloud, it is addressing urban policy as a critical success factor. Policy design is based on the analysis of big data sourced from sectors such as transport and parking, waste disposal, and public order.
Policy Cloud big data streaming technology and real-time big data platform will enable Sofia municipality to improve operational efficiency, transparency, and decision making.
Marieke Willems is a Project Manager at Trust-IT Services. With an MBA and an MSc in Communication Science. Marieke is involved in several activities on research projects, involving stakeholders’ engagement, marketing research and communications. She is currently leading the dissemination work in the European Research and Innovation projects Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud (SSHOC) and Policy Cloud, and is involved in the Horzions Results Booster.

Ana Georgieva is part of the team of Innovative Sofia – the Digitalisation, Innovation and Economic Development department of the City of Sofia (Bulgaria). Since 2018, Ana has been working to support the digital and business development of Sofia and the establishment of a recognizable brand of the city as a leading innovative and entrepreneurial hub, and a preferred destination for both, work and life. She has participated in the development of the Digital Transformation Strategy for Sofia, as well as several international projects related to innovative urban development, digitalisation, and optimisation of e-services. Ana has degrees in International Relations and International Logistics, background in research, entrepreneurship, digitalisation and economic development, and passion for innovation and creative industries.
Petya Bozhkova - Operative Director, OKYS
Ms. Petya Bozhkova, is the Operative Director at OKYS. She has experience as Head of European Projects and Programmes Department for more than 15 years. She has got extensive experience in identifying, writing and managing European projects. Her expertise is extended well over Structural, Cohesion and Pre-accession funds and includes large non-governmental and privately financed projects. Ms Bozhkova has completed certifying course on European Project Management from the American University in Bulgaria. She holds a MA degree in Human Rights and Democracy from the University of Bologna and a BA degree in International Relations from the University for National and World Economy (UNWE), Sofia.

Liliana is a computer science engineer with a background in business, artificial intelligence, distributed and decentralized systems, and experience in several sectors: technology, social and education. Liliana is passionate about smart cities topics and citizens participation, the reason why she has deepened her research in governance. Liliana Carrillo is a researcher, entrepreneur and speaker in topics related to collective intelligence including governance, decentralized autonomous organizations and peer-to-peer systems.
