EBDVF2020: Smart government with co-creating services with the use of AI and Data

Policy Cloud was presented in the Parallel Session on Smart government: co-creating services with the use of AI and Data on Thursday 5 November between 15:45 to 16:45 CET. Policy Cloud was represented in the session by Iskra Yovkova from the Municipality of Sofia who leads Policy Cloud's use case of urban policy making through the analysis of crowdsourced data, along with two other projects DUET and URBANITE.

The session showcased examples of Smart Government initiatives across Europe that integrate AI, Digital Twins, and Big Data solutions. The focus lay on co-creating services with the use of the 3 aforementioned technologies. The the three panel members were: Smart City Expert Mr. Lieven Raes, Information Flanders, Cloud Technologies Expert Leire Orue-Echevarria Arrieta, TECNALIA R&I, and Iskra Yovkova from the Municipality of Sofia who leads Policy Cloud's use case of urban policy making through analysis of crowdsourced data.

Policy Cloud: Realising the European cloud for data-driven policy management

PolicyCloud is a brand-new project that will become the first pilot in using the European cloud infrastructure for public administrations. Funded under the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, over the next 3 years the project will deliver a unique integrated environment addressing the full lifecycle of policy management. The project will use the capabilities offered by the European Cloud Initiative, especially concerning data analysis, in order to facilitate evidence-based policy making. PolicyCloud officially kicked off on the 1st of January 2020, with the first face-to-face meeting held in Madrid on 21st and 22nd January. Policy Cloud Policy Development Toolkit

An interview with Ilias Magliogiannis (UPRC) on the Policy Development Toolkit.  Automated tools enabling non-experts to manipulate, model, and visualise both data inputs and the outputs from analytics processes. Visualizations will be incremental and cover a wide range of aspects from data analytics and data source information to policy evaluation outcomes.
